Our sustainable practices are created and driven by the WYNDGREEN program, an initiative of Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific.
WYNDGREEN PROGRAM:
At Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific, we aim to conserve resources, preserve natural habitats, and prevent pollution. We adopt best practices and build a culture that continuously strives to improve and sustain our positive environmental results over time. WYNDGREEN is designed to leverage education and innovation and is based on the company's vision and core values, which include enhancing customers' lives by improving the environment, supporting global and local communities, and developing sustainable programs that deliver economic benefits. In 2019, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific received the HM Award for Best Environmental Program in the Australasian hotel industry.

Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay is now on its journey to achieve WYNDGREEN Level 5, and we're proud to announce that we have already reached Level 3 in the program. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in every aspect of our resort's operations, making us a sustainable hotel, eco-friendly hotel, and a leader in green tourism.

We are thrilled to share that this year, Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay has received the "International Sustainability" from Luxury Lifestyle Awards in recognition of our commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices. Additionally, we have been honored with the "Green Hotel Thailand Award, Silver Plate" from Green Hotel Thailand Award, further showcasing our dedication to green tourism and sustainability.

REDUCING ENERGY CONSUMPTION:
We have upgraded our lighting systems to energy-efficient LEDs, leveraging reduced electricity usage while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere in our eco-friendly hotel.
Installation of motion sensors in guest rooms and public spaces to automatically control lighting and air conditioning when not in use, showcasing our commitment to green tourism.
Investment in renewable energy sources, such as solar panels, to generate clean electricity and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels in our sustainable hotel.
REDUCING WATER USAGE:
Low-flow faucets, showerheads, and toilets have been installed in guest rooms and public areas, significantly leveraging decreased water consumption in our eco-friendly hotel.
Greywater recycling systems are in place to treat and reuse water from showers and sinks for landscape irrigation, leveraging reduced demand on freshwater sources and promoting sustainable tourism.
Special Aerators: In all our rooms, we have installed special aerators to leverage reduced water usage, aligning with our commitment to sustainable tourism.
MINIMIZING WASTE:
Recycling Garden Bags: Our landscape team has set up recycle garden bags to collect leaves throughout the resort. These bags are made from recycled materials, leveraging reduced use and waste of single-use plastic bags, contributing to our waste minimization efforts.
Wooden Key Cards: We have replaced plastic key cards with wooden key cards, leveraging reduced plastic waste and promoting sustainability.
Eco-Friendly Decor: For all functions and events, we use natural items and products such as fruits, vegetables, wood, and rocks, leveraging the need for synthetic decorations.
EDUCATION OF OUR ASSOCIATES AND DRIVING INNOVATION:
Team Participation in a Plastic Ocean Workshop: To further enhance our commitment to education and innovation, our team has joined the "A Plastic Ocean Workshop" arranged by Phuket Hotels for Islands Sustaining Tourism (PHIST). This workshop provides valuable insights into addressing plastic pollution and underscores our dedication to driving innovation and sustainable practices.
Handigo App: We have replaced old-fashioned hotel compendiums with the "Handigo App," allowing guests to access services digitally. This paperless approach reduces waste, enhances convenience for guests, and demonstrates our commitment to innovation.
Paperless Work Activities: Our reservations team has introduced paperless work activities, fostering innovation and reducing paper waste, aligning with our goal to educate and leverage innovation among our associates.
Wyndham Orchard: Our team members have collaboratively built and maintain the "Wyndham Orchard," an organic garden for herbs, vegetables, and fruits. We leverage a mini-tour at the "Wyndham Orchard" with our cooking class under the concept "Garden to Gourmet". Guests can understand and pick fresh ingredients for their cooking class, creating an immersive and sustainable culinary experience.
WORKING WITH COMMUNITIES:
Community Involvement: We actively collaborate with the Phuket Hotels Association (PHA) and Phuket Hotels for Islands Sustaining Tourism (PHIST) on various community projects, including beach and coastal cleanups, sponsorships, mangrove planting, and support for Earth Hour every year. This underscores our commitment to working with local communities for sustainable development.
REDUCING FOOD WASTE:
Food Waste Reduction with SOS: We work with Thailand's Scholars of Sustenance Foundation (SOS) to reduce food waste from our hotel's daily operation and activities by redistributing excess food to those in need, further showcasing our dedication to minimizing waste and supporting our community.
REDUCING CARBON EMISSIONS:
EV Car Charger Installation: As a pivotal step in our commitment to reducing carbon emissions, we have installed EV car chargers, promoting sustainable transportation choices and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. This eco-friendly addition allows us to leverage sustainable transportation choices and contributes to a greener environment in our sustainable hotel.
